Keeping Pittsburgh Toasty with Staab and Sons

As an HVAC technician with Staab & Sons, Inc., my days are a whirlwind of keeping the residents of Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas comfortable, no matter the weather. From furnace replacements to heating service calls, every day brings a new challenge.

Heating Repair: A Day in the Life

  • 7:00 AM – Arrive at the office, check the schedule, and load up the van with the necessary tools and equipment.
  • 8:30 AM – First call of the day, a furnace repair in West Mifflin. A homeowner’s furnace has stopped working, leaving their home chilly. Diagnose the issue as a faulty ignitor and replace it, restoring warmth to the house.
  • 10:45 AM – Head to Bethel Park for a heating service call. Perform routine maintenance on the system, ensuring it’s running efficiently and preventing future breakdowns.
  • 1:00 PM – Lunchtime! Grab a quick bite and prepare for the afternoon rush.
  • 2:30 PM – Emergency call in Carnegie. A family’s furnace has stopped working in the middle of a cold snap. Quickly diagnose and replace a worn-out blower motor, getting their heat back up and running.
  • 4:15 PM – Final call of the day in South Park, a furnace replacement. The homeowner’s unit is beyond repair, so we work efficiently to install a new, energy-efficient system.
  • 7:00 PM – Wrap up the day, return to the office, restock the van, and prepare for another day of keeping Pittsburgh cozy.
